We actively participated in the International AIDS Conference, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 26–31.
Our group presented the preliminary feasibility results of a virtual assistant (chatbot) designed to optimize care for individuals eligible for PrEP.
Dr. Marcelo H. Losso presented the results of the Extension Phase of the PURPOSE 2 study on behalf of the international study team, which demonstrated the utility of every-six-months injectable lenacapavir for PrEP.
The study was selected as one of the top five most significant presentations of the Conference and the most prominent in the field of prevention.
The Extension Phase analysis confirms the efficacy of lenacapavir, with only one additional infection identified over an extra year of follow-up, no new adverse events reported, and excellent adherence exceeding 95%.
